From the Bleachers – 2012 Djarum Indonesia Open Premier Super Series: Badminton Heroes Arena

Every year, there is always something new here. For this year, there were more various and interesting booths. There are face painting booths, games booths, merchandise booths, shout out booths, photo champion booths, food booths, and shopping booths from blibli, djarum, osim and some celebrity. Besides that, there was also place for charging your handphone or camera battery.  And oh ya, there was also a big tv screen outside the building for you who didn’t get the ticket. The booths are not only outside the istora building but also inside. So, when you feel hot outside, just move inside.

Inside the stadium, the lighting was awesome. In my previous post, I was amazed by stadium lighting during All England.  And now, I could feel that in Istora.  Actually, the dark lighting on the audience and the lighting up only on the court during play is started to use last year. But this year, it was more amazing. Actually, IMO,  istora is not a great building.  But, the lighting made it looks so elegant. Wow…

This year, besides for watching the best badminton game from the best player, visitors also could enjoy marching bands, traditional and modern dance, band performance, meet ang greet with athletes, and celebrity performance. For  semifinal, there were performance from Judika and Cherrybelle and for final, the visitors could enjoy Ayu Tingting and XO IX.  Uwo uwo…. Sayang ga ada trio macan.

Hal-hal kecil namun cukup penting pun tak luput dari perhatian panitia. Maskot DIO kini tak sendirian. Tahun ini,  setiap negara memiliki maskotnya masing-masing.  Saat tim Korea bertanding, akan ada maskot dengan tulisan SUJU di bajunya, begitu juga dengan negara-negara lain, seperti SILORENG untuk Malaysia, SHINTA untuk India, MS.VIKING untuk Denmark, dan LUNG-LUNG untuk China

Dan satu lagi strategi unik yang digunakan panitia untuk memperingati penonton agar tidak menggunakan flash dalam megambil foto di dalam stadion, yaitu dengan adanya NO LASH girl. Mba-mba dengan pakaian seksi yang membawa papan dengan tulisan NO FLASH yang berjalan di depan penonton. Mba-mba seksi ini pun sukses mengalihkan objek foto bapak-bapak dan mas-mas yang tadinya sibuk moto-pemain pemain di lapangan. Hmm, cukup berhasil sih, tapi….

Sepertinya, dengan segala fasilitas yang ada ini, panitia ingin membuat penonton yang datang kesana bilang  “Ok, gw beli tiket dengan harga segini, and its worh it.” And ya, I said that. Tapi, buat tahun depan mudah-mudahan harga  tiketnya ga naik begitu jauh. Tahun ini, untuk VIP harga tiket naik 50 rb buat perempat final dan 100 rb buat semifinal dan final. Buat orang Jakarta yang kaya-kaya sih mungkin ga masalah, tapi buat mahasiswi kere kaya saya, harus buka pertunjukkan air mata kritstal dulu buat dapet uang segitu. Hihihi… Well, harga naik tiap tahun wajar lah, tapi yaa, kalo bisa si, jangan langsung 100 rb gitu juga naiknya, naik 1000, 2000 gapapa lah, hehehe :hammer

Siapa suruh beli vip? Gaya amat, panitia kan nyedian juga tiket buat kelas 1 dan 2 dengan harga yang lebih terjangkau. Yeah, that’s right. But, I really wanna enjoy the game. I wanna enjoy the high class performance from the best badminton player in the world. And from vip seat, especially in front of tv court, I could watch it clearly.
